Pros

  1. Balanced subject between equal sharing of medical practice and surgical fields.
  2. A bit heavy patient load, u never feel shortage of patients.
  3. Usually End Subject. No urgent need for superspecialization.
  4. Not oversaturated like other subjects. Still there is shortage of ENT surgeons.
  5. Fellowships are available and usually 6months-2yrs
  6. If anyone interested in Head neck surgery as superspecialization it is the best branch to chose.
  7. Great surgical varieties within the field, you will never bore doing the same cases.
  8. Expanding subject- various new techniques including robotic surgeries are going to start. Sky is the limit.
  9. Not at all so costly set up as many make fuss, for private practice.
  10. No hectic life, predictable duty hours.

Cons

  1. Learning curve steeper. As there are many varierty of surgeries you need to give a lot of dedication to master the surgeries.
  2. For private practice you need to tie up with audiologist and speech therapist for different diagnostic and therapeutic tests .
