ENT
Pros
- Balanced subject between equal sharing of medical practice and surgical fields.
- A bit heavy patient load, u never feel shortage of patients.
- Usually End Subject. No urgent need for superspecialization.
- Not oversaturated like other subjects. Still there is shortage of ENT surgeons.
- Fellowships are available and usually 6months-2yrs
- If anyone interested in Head neck surgery as superspecialization it is the best branch to chose.
- Great surgical varieties within the field, you will never bore doing the same cases.
- Expanding subject- various new techniques including robotic surgeries are going to start. Sky is the limit.
- Not at all so costly set up as many make fuss, for private practice.
- No hectic life, predictable duty hours.
Cons
- Learning curve steeper. As there are many varierty of surgeries you need to give a lot of dedication to master the surgeries.
- For private practice you need to tie up with audiologist and speech therapist for different diagnostic and therapeutic tests .
